|
Hardware and Software RequirementsOperating SystemHydroCAD will run on virtually any 32-bit or 64-bit PC running Windows 98, ME, NT, 2K, XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10, or 11. Details here. Although we do not offer a specific Macintosh edition, customers have reported good results running HydroCAD on a Windows Emulator such as Parallels or WINE. Hard Disk SpaceThe HydroCAD software requires approximately 10 MB of hard disk space. Normal project data consumes minimal disk space (Approximately 10k for a 10-node project). Windows CompatibilityThe HydroCAD installation is an extremely safe process that does not install any files to system folders. With over 50,000 installations, no conflicts have been reported with any other software or system components. Video DisplayHydroCAD will run on any Windows-compatible display system, with full support for dual-monitor configurations. PrintersHydroCAD supports all Windows printers, including all local, network, USB, JetDirect, and other connections. Also supports specialized "printer" drivers for plotters, PDF output, etc. Network SupportThe standard HydroCAD program is network-ready. Although the program should be installed on a local hard drive, you can share the license between multiple users. Distribution MediumHydroCAD is distributed exclusively by download. If you need to transport the installation program to another PC, you can save a copy to any portable storage medium, such as a USB drive. Internet AccessHydroCAD requires a direct internet connection in order to communicate with the license server. Internet access occurs only when you start and stop the program, and is limited to essential license information. Proxy servers are not supported at this time. Details here. Compatibility With Other ProgramsHydroCAD is a stand-alone program that does not require other software (other than the operating system.) Data can be exported and imported through a number of file formats, allowing the creation of links with terrain modeling software and other data sources. HydroCAD also supports direct import of watershed data from select CAD systems. |
