HydroCAD® Stormwater Modeling - Since 1986

Software Status Bulletin # 105

Subject: "Invalid Floating Point Operation"

Applies to: HydroCAD-7.1

Description

When printing or viewing the tabular storage or discharge report for an undescribed node, an error message will appear regarding an "Invalid Floating Point Operation."  This problem does not occur with the storage or discharge graphs, or with a fully described node.

Explanation

For an undescribed node, the storage and discharge reports are always empty, and should display as a blank graph or table.  However, a software problem causes an error to occur whenever one of these empty tables is viewed or printed.  (The empty graphical report is displayed correctly.)

Recommendation

Do not view the tabular storage or discharge reports for an undescribed node.  When running multi-page reports (with Print|Report), do not select the options for "Stage-Storage Tables" or "Stage-Discharge Tables" if the report will include any undescribed nodes.

Comments

This problem will be corrected in version 8.00.  To reduce the potential for loss of data, users may wish to enable the automatic backup feature on the Settings|General screen.
