Course Description

This course is designed for students who already have some familiarity with HydroCAD.  The seminar will cover basic principles of hydrology, how the software works, different ways of modeling drainage structures, hydrograph routing effects, etc.  We will review assumptions of modeling stormwater flows, with special attention to gauging the validity of those assumptions.  (How to avoid the "garbage in, garbage out" syndrome.)

For details on the seminar content please see our general seminar page.  Additional program details are also available at the RCCD web site.  If you are unable to attend the seminar, self-training materials are also available.

Who Will Benefit

This course will sharpen the modeling skills that are essential for civil engineers, regulatory and enforcement personnel, stormwater managers and consultants.

bulletYou will acquire new skills for applying today's technology.

The expanded two-day program will provide follow the same basic outline as the one-day program, but will allow more time for exercises, including the development of a complete HydroCAD model throughout the day.  For details, please see the daily seminar schedule.

The programs are being held in a general meeting room, and not in a computer lab.  In order to to the software exercises, you must bring your own laptop computer for the two-day program.  Laptops are optional for the one-day program.  HydroCAD should be preinstalled on your computer before the seminar.  If necessary, you may obtain a free HydroCAD Sampler for the purposes of the seminar.
