New Engineering Features
User-defined
rainfall events allow each project to automatically calculate, print,
export, and link data for multiple events (10-year, 25-year, etc.)
Dynamic Storage-Indication
method added for tailwater-sensitive ponds
Pond storage may be defined with any
combination of common shapes, such as a pipe, arched chamber, or vault
Storage volumes with different void
ratios may be embedded within each other, such as storage chambers buried in a
gravel bed
Predefined storage definitions are
supplied for all Cultec storage chambers
Catch-basins may be entered as
zero-storage ponds, with no storage information required
Fixed or tidal tailwater
elevations may be defined with a link for use with tailwater-sensitive
routing procedures
Rational method can use multi-event
IDF curves, with automatic intensity lookup for any duration
With Rational method, the critical
duration can be automatically calculated for each node
Center-of-mass detention time is now
calculated for all ponds (in addition to the Plug-Flow detention time)
Automatic pipe and culvert sizing
for pipe-full conditions or user-defined headwater
Reporting Enhancements
Hydrograph plots
now include detailed annotations, for clear and concise reports
Plotting speed and appearance is
enhanced with Fast Hydrograph Plots
Hydrograph volumes can be reported in
"large units" (acre-feet) or "small units" (cubic-feet)
Individual inflow hydrographs may be
tabulated
Many new values are calculated and
reported, including the inflow area and inflow depth for each node
Peak flows are calculated and
reported for individual pond outlet devices
Discharge velocity is
calculated and reported for each controlling pond outlet device
Selectable report font, font size,
and time-of-day headings
Each node may include user-defined
notes, allowing self-documenting projects and customized reports
Summary, graphic, and tabular reports
can be exported to a file in a number of text, graphics, and spreadsheet formats
A background image or logo can
be printed with the routing diagram
Key Operating Features
Opens any previous
HydroCAD-6 project file directly, and imports data from HydroCAD-5 or earlier
Routing diagram now supports
visible grids and automatic snap-to-grid
A logo or background image (such as a
site plan) can be superimposed on the routing diagram
The mouse wheel may be used to zoom
or pan the routing diagram
The routing diagram can be exported
to a graphics file for use in custom reports or as a plan overlay
Complete project data can be
automatically exported to a spreadsheet for external reporting and analysis
Most data entry tables may be
imported from a CSV file (such as a custom outlet table)
